On April 4, 2013, the American Chamber of Commerce hosted a seminar held by Oksana Voynarovska, partner with Vasil Kisil & Partners law firm, on "Labour disputes: causes and legal mechanisms available to prevent and settle them." The event sparked the interest of a large number of companies, including major agricultural and construction materials producers, FMCG, as well as financial institutions and professional advisers.

During the webinar Mrs Voynarovska reviewed the main reasons for differences in labour disputes at an enterprise and how they can be avoided, the legal and practical aspects of individual and collective labour disputes, the role of unions in the settlement process. Further on, the expert provided advice on how to properly handle the reduction of company staff, highlighting the specifics of layoffs as a result of certification, letting go of employees on maternity leave, and paid special attention to the legal niceties of dismissing top management.

Oksana Voynarovska answered numerous questions from the audience, including those regarding the specifics of dismissing female employees whose children have not reached the age of three, the suspension of an employee under an internal investigation and the process of mediation in connection with labour disputes.

“Properly regulated labour relations pave the way to the wellbeing and maximum productivity of the company. Problems of early warning and effective legal resolution of labour disputes are traditionally relevant for both sides," – emphasized Mrs Voynarovska.

VKP's partner Oksana Voynarovska has been repeatedly recognized by international and domestic legal directories as the best Ukrainian expert in the field of labour law. For five consecutive years (2007-2012) “Ukrainian Law Firms. A Handbook for Foreign Clients” has been naming Mrs Voynarovska #1 Labour and Employment Lawyer in Ukraine. Oksana Voynarovska also represents Vasil Kisil & Partners in Ius Laboris, the largest global alliance of leading law firms in the field of labour law.
