Open Doors Day took place at the DuPont Pioneer’s facility in Stasi

On August,8th, 2014 DuPont Pioneer opened up a regular opportunity toinhabitants of Dykanka region to see within the seed production facility inStasi. For today this seed production enterprise is the most equipped and automatedin Ukraine, and the newest plant of DuPont Pioneer in the world.
The building ofthe facility began in 2011 with the logistics center. The Poltava region waschosen after the detailed analysis of grounds, climate and economic conditions.Less than for 2 years processes of production sunflower and corn hybrid seedsin the annual volume of 500 thousands units were set up. The investment in thisproject from the launch was about 40 mln US dollars, and the ceremony ofofficial opening took place on June, 11, 2013.
From the first days of foundation themanagement of DuPont Pioneer and facility in particular were committed to setan open dialog with the local community of Dykanka region for partnership. “Respect for people is one of the CoreValues of DuPont Pioneer. Our task is to listen to people’s opinion in thatcommunities where we operate, pay attention to the concerning questions andgive on time answers, - explains VladimirSalnikov, Plant manager of DuPont Pioneer is Stasi. – With this aim last year the company has initiated an Open Doors Day forall people to let them see within the facility, assure in a high level ofproduction and talk to managers and employees”.
The event of 2013 generated very high interest– 220 people came to see the plant. During the first event local inhabitantsdiscussed the interested questions and informed about their wishes on company’shelp to the village as the main task of Open Doors Day is no only to show theproduction but also to receive a feedback.
With the aim ofreflection of discussions in practical activity at the beginning of 2014 DuPontPioneer conducted an independent fundamental analysis of the community needs byorganizing focus-groups with the help of external experts. “Based on survey data we focused our social and charity activity on themost critical areas, - said AnnaBabich, Communications consultant of DuPont Pioneer. – Lots of questions that were risen up during the first Open Doors Daywere already solved; probably that’s why this year less people visited us –about 50. However, Open Doors Day is not only one possibility to visit the facility”.
