Sayenko Kharenko’s IP team successfully defended the interests of Podravka d.d., a famous Croatia-based food company, in litigation regarding the invalidation of an offensive design patent that infringes on the Podravka’s rights in its trademarks. The offensive design patent was initially obtained by an individual for the one essential part of the well-known trademark Vegeta. On 28 July 2015, the Solomyanskiy District Court of the city of Kyiv ruled on invalidation of the design patent that lacks novelty and infringes the rights of Podravka d.d.
Established in 1934, Podravka d.d. is today one of the leading companies in the South East, Central and Eastern Europe. Podravka's basic activities are food & beverages and pharmaceuticals. Podravka has companies and representative offices in 17 countries on three continents, Europe, Australia and America.
Podravka d.d. was represented by Sayenko Kharenko’s senior associate Oleg Klymchuk, supervised by partner Oleksandr Padalka.
