Presszvaniye contest for journalists reviewed its results and awarded winners on 21 April 2012. SCM Group traditionally partnered with event. SCM managing company supported the category “Important Issue: Energy Efficiency and Saving”; Metinvest – "Mining and Metals Industry"; and DTEK – "Electrical Energy".

The Supervisory Board of the contest decided to create intrigue and not reveal any results until the awarding ceremony. SCM, Metinvest and DTEK therefore didn’t know who won in their categories until the last moment.

Roman Ivanchenko, an Interfax reporter, won in “Important Issue: Energy Efficiency and Saving” with the score of 8.313. He outperformed other 17 bidders (13 journalsts competed in this category last year). Viktor Tarnavskiy, editor-in-chief of Bankovskaya Praktika Za Rubezhom (Banking Practices Abroad) took second place with just 0.313 points behind Roman Ivanchenko. Roman Nitsovich, editor-in-chief of Ukrainskaya Energetika (Ukrainian Energy Industry) scored 7.733 – just enough to rank third.

“We have not changed the category for the third consecutive year to promote energy efficiency and saving among journalists. It obviously pays off as the number of bidders and their stories is growing. I believe that the talent of Ukrainian journalists will make more and more people realise how important energy saving is for the development of the country,” said Natalia Yemchenko, Director of Public Relations and Communications.

Artyom Ilin, a journalist of Ekonomicheskiye Izvestiya, won the category “Mining and Metals Industry” (supported by Metinvest), while Oleg Gavrich, a reporter of Kommersant, was first in “Electrical Energy” (supported by DTEK).
