On February 7, 2012 a founding meeting was held in the State Customer Protection Inspection of Ukraine for purposes of election of members of the Public Council in order to involve the public to formation and implementation of the state policy in the sphere of consumer rights protection. The founding meeting was opened by the Head of the State Customer Rights Protection Inspection of Ukraine Sergiy Orekhov.

Upon results of the meeting Sergiy Shklyar, Senior Partner at Arzinger and representative of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC-Ukraine) became a member of the Public Council.

Upon completion of the founding meeting members of the newly established Public Council conducted a founding session and elected the executive personnel of the Council. Thus, with majority of votes Kubrachenko A.V. was elected head, and Shalman T.M. and Pritulska N.V., member of the public association All-Ukrainian Consumers’ Federation, - deputy head of the Public Council. Position of the secretary of the Public Council will be held by Solomiana I.M. – the deputy head of the Administrative department, head of the information analysis and mass media office of the State Consumer Rights Protection Inspection of Ukraine. 

Besides, during the session the executives of the Council were assigned with the task to compose a draft of the Provision on the Public Council, to develop its structure and work procedure. The next session is planned to be held till the end of February 2012.
