By Resolution of the Plenum of theSupreme Commercial Court of Ukraine as of July 10, 2014 Sergiy Shklyar,Founding Partner at Arzinger Law Office, was elected as member of theScientific Advisory Board at the Supreme Commercial Court of Ukraine. TheAdvisory Board’s composition, which includes highly qualified specialists inthe field of law approved by the Plenum of the SCCU for five years, aims atfacilitating the administration of justice by commercial courts and the executionof tasks set by the Court.

Activities of the ScientificAdvisory Board include the study of issues arising in judicialactivities and the provision of proposals and recommendations to the SCCUconcerning the SECU Plenum’s draft regulations on the application ofsubstantive and procedural law, which are prepared with scientific support,materials of the summarized substantive and procedural law practice ofcommercial courts and judicial statistics data, the SCCU’s draft appeals to theSupreme Court of Ukraine as well as other documents, instructions and guidanceletters prepared with scientific support.

Sergiy Shklyar, Founding Partner and head of Dispute Resolution atArzinger, is not only a respected practitioner with years of experience, butalso the author of scientific papers and numerous publications in internationaland Ukrainian scientific and business journals. He also takes an active part inpublic councils established at the Antimonopoly Committee, the Ministry ofJustice and the Committee on the Protection of Creditors’ Rights at theNational Association of Ukrainian Banks.

Sergiy Shklyar obtained his doctoraldegree (Dr. jur.) for the thesis “Protection of rights and interests ofbusiness entities in legal relations with the bodies of the AntimonopolyCommittee of Ukraine”.
