On April 18-19, 2013 the State Capital Group (SCG) held its European meeting in Vilnius, which was a platform for members to share practice experience and insights into industry trends.

Sergiy Shklyar, Founding Partner at Arzinger, took part in the event, being the only delegate from Ukraine. During the meeting Sergiy had an excellent opportunity to gain immeasurable one-on-one time with other members, as well as get to know peers in other capitals cities and major commercial centers around the world.

Opening speeches this year were delivered by Artūras Zuokas, Mayor of Vilnius and Virginijus Papirtis, Chairman of the Council of the Lithuanian Bar Association. Among the topics discussed during the event were introduction of the Baltic countries, economic trends of the Baltics, EU Policy during the Lithuania’s EU Presidency period, economic trends of the EU, comparative analysis of legal alliances, future of legal alliances and General Counsel’s perspective of legal alliances and choosing a law firm, business development tools for law firms/ legal alliances etc. Furthermore, the meeting raised issues of future of SCG Legal, cooperation of European member firms within SCG Legal, and regional cooperation within SCG Legal.
