TO CONSTRUCT THE TRANSSHIPMENT TERMINAL WITHIN 3 MONTHS IS A REAL STORY

On March 20, 2016, NIBULON started the general construction work of the modern transshipment terminal and already in three months the company plans an experimental run to test the equipment. The General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy informed about it and much more during the production meeting that took place at “Voznesens’ka” branch on June 17.
This week the list of facilities put into operation, such as cafeteria, weighing station, and administrative and laboratory building is added with the workshops with fire station, a warehouse, a rest room for the drivers where there are 6 beds, bedside chests, wardrobes, bathrooms and shower cabins. Drivers can rest after a long trip here.
The head of NIBULON also pointed out that the laboratory has been already certified and laboratory assistants can start working.
Fencing at the facility is installed, and the entrance-exit control regime is initiated. Dryers, sewerage, water and gas supply systems, transformers (10 kW and 35 kW) are ready for operation.
Structural steel erection of grain storage facilities is going on actively. Six silos with total storage capacity of 27,000 tons are assembled. Unfortunately to the aforementioned delay of equipment delivery by the Spanish company Symaga there was added another unexpected event - a strike of Polish customs officers at the checkpoints. Thus, the trucks with the equipment had to wait their turn on the state border.
However, this delay will not influence the operation of the terminal, and it will receive the first grain from the agricultural producers after June 22. “The agricultural producers from Mykolayiv, Kirovograd and other regions of Ukraine are already informed about the date of putting into operation of our terminal and are looking forward to this day. They will take full advantage of the facility for several reasons. First of all, it is a reasonable price. Secondly, they will use their transport more effectively as the grain transportation distance will be shortened from 300 km to 100 km. It will also give an opportunity to use fewer trucks to transport the necessary yield of crop. Thirdly, the terminal is placed in such a way that agricultural producers of Voznesensk, Pervomaysk, Bratske and Arbuzynka districts will not have to transport grain to Odesa and Mykolayiv ports,” pointed out the General Director.
In the coming week the contractors will improve the territory and carry out the commissioning work.
The terminal is 12 ha in area. About 100,000 tons of soil was removed from the territory before starting the construction work. Then the site was covered up with sand raising its level up to 2 meters. It was done to secure the technological lines from flooding in case of rising water in the Southern Bug River. Now it is necessary to deliver about 60 thousand tons of soil for the improvement of the area.
An experimental run to test all technological equipment will be executed soon. “We will deliver our grain (a last year yield) and “rinse” technological lines that may contain metal pieces, glass, paper, etc. These things are not allowed in case of grain export. After “rinsing” the grain will be delivered to the farmers for poultry feeding. It is necessary to carry out the technological testing as soon as possible because our branches in Snigurivska, Bashtanka and Voznesensk districts will harvest winter barley in the nearest time. That’s why we must be ready to receive a new yield,” pointed out the General Director.
The last week will demand a full commitment and enthusiasm from the contractors. Bad weather conditions have a negative influence on the work at the construction site. It was raining cats and dogs in Voznesensk during the last few days, although weathermen had not forecasted it. Consequently, extra 70 mm of rain fell. However, the NIBULON’s team believes in its partners and is sure they will not fail.
Laboratory and administrative building
At the end of the meeting Oleksiy Vadaturskyy told us another piece of news. “I have already received a phone call from BNP Paribas (Geneva office). They informed me that the bank provides us with a loan of USD 25 million that will allow us to finance our trading and export activities. Another loan of USD 10 million will be used for purchasing the agricultural production. Besides, yesterday I negotiated with Ukreximbank and we reached an agreement to cooperate on the World Bank’s energy-saving program. Next month we expect to receive a loan of USD 30 million from the World Bank. Our investment project within the framework of which we are building the transshipment terminal, vessels of the B2000 project and dredging the Southern Bug River totally corresponds with this program. Thus, using ecology transport our company saves fuel and oil materials, preserves the environment.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will also provide our company with a loan of USD 40 million that will allow us to construct the transshipment terminals and to develop the Dnipro River and the Southern Bug River. The company is going to cooperate with the European Investment Bank and expect to receive a long term (7-10 years) loan of USD 30-40 million for implementation of the investment projects. Therefore, the financial standing and performance of the company meet all requirements of the modern world financial institutions”.
