UkraineInternational became the first Ukraine`s carrier designated as valid ACC3 – Air Cargo or Mail Carrier operating intothe European Union from a Third Country Airport.
UIA hassuccessfully completed the validation process for the European Union-initiatedACC3 security regulation in respect of its cargo and mail operations. Undertaken by an independent validator, certified by an EU regulator, the validation enables Ukraine International to grantuninterrupted secured services from Kyiv Boryspil International airport (KBP)into the EU.
The ACC3designation is valid through to July 1, 2019.
“Security is UIA`shighest priority, – noted Alexander Suvorov, UIA Vice-President AviationSecurity. – UIA aviation security standards applied when inspecting andscreening cargo and mail fully comply with the EU security requirements. UIAintends to obtain ACC3 designation from other airports of Ukraine and thus tooffer partners easier cargo and mail delivery solutions”.
“To obtain ACC3status, the carrier must deliver a “Declaration of Commitments” setting out howit details and operationally delivers its aviation security responsibilities tothe civil aviation authorities of the EU member state to whom it flies cargoand/or mail, – noted Peter Kukharchuk, UIA Cargo Director. – ACC3s are obliged to ensure that cargoand mail destined for the EU is screened or comes from a secure supply chain. We are proud of becoming the first and the only Ukraine`s carrier to have beendesignated the ACC3 status and thus to move towards accession to the EU’s Common AviationArea”.
Since July 1, 2014,the EU regulations state that ACC3’s must be in possession of securityverifications of their cargo and mail operations at the relevant non-EUairports.
