Ukrainian consumers of natural gas see first-hand how faulty gas can create problems for imported home heating systems which are very sensitive to different contaminants. Scientists from the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFNTUOG) recently initiated a search for a solution. Ihor Rybitskiy, PhD, Associate Professor and Director of Oil and Gas Science and Technology Park, headed the research team to develop a method of natural gas quality control. The young scientists created the special device that measures the composition of gas and makes specific conclusions on its quality. Versions for this innovative device has begun to appear all over the world but most are not in mass production for consumers. The Ukrainian young scientists plan to advance their innovative technology-based ideas to the local and international market within the support of CRDF Global STEP program.

An article titled as Quality of Gas: For What to Pay Money? by M.Rudak, in Galytske Slovo, tells more about an device developed by Ivano-Frankivsk scientists with CRDF Global support.
