Vasil Kisil & Partners is named once again among the best tax advisors in Ukraine according to the international research World Tax 2014 published at the beginning of January 2014.

The publishers particularly highlight professional accomplishments of Denis Lysenko, Partner and Head of Taxation, working across the full spectrum of tax advisory work with a particular strength in mergers and acquisitions and other corporate restructuring work. The researchers also name Andriy Stelmashchuk, Partner, among the best tax disputes practitioners. 

The publication notes that last year Vasil Kisil & Partners represented Imperial Tobacco Ukraine, the subsidiary of the international tobacco company in a dispute with the tax authorities regarding alleged violation of Ukrainian laws on the licensing of the wholesale trade of tobacco products. On the tax advisory side, the researchers commend the practice advising the French company Danone through the corporate restructuring of the group’s assets in Ukraine, including advising on changes in the firm’s operating model for the purposes mitigating VAT risks and preserving benefits from the special tax subsidies regime.
