Vasil Kisil & Partners Succeeded in Defending Interests of the Ukrainian Subsidiary of the International Cosmetics Manufacturer in a Labour Dispute

Lawyersof Vasil Kisil & Partners have succeeded in defending the interests of theUkrainian subsidiary of the international cosmetics manufacturer in a labourdispute with an ex-employee. After the employee had left for personal reasons,he filed a claim with the court seeking an additional payment from the clientfor acting for a temporarily absent manager during the year. 

Thefirst-instance court dismissed the employee’s claims in full, and courts ofappeal and cassation upheld the decision in the case. The courts unanimouslyagreed that the ex-employee had failed to provide sufficient evidence provingthat he had been acting for a temporarily absent manager.

Interestsof the Ukrainian subsidiary of the international cosmetics manufacturer wererepresented by Valeriya Savchuk, lawyer of the labour and employment practicegroup. The project was managed by Oksana Voynarovska, partner of the labour andemployment practice group.
