Senior Associate with Vasil Kisil & Partners law firm Vyacheslav Peskov spoke at the 1st “Financial Monitoring in Banks” Conference which took place on November 21, 2012 in Kiev.

His report was dedicated to criminal aspects of investigating cases of criminally obtained proceeds being legalized in Ukraine. Vyacheslav uncovered the evolution of these offenses under Articles 209 and 209-1 of Ukraine's Criminal Code dedicated to the legalization of proceeds from crime and the non-compliance with related legislature by bank officials.

He also paid special attention to the recently entered into force Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in the context of conference topics. Another issue addressed in Vyacheslav's presentation was the application of the new Code of Criminal Procedure requirements regarding the arrest of funds, pre-trial investigation's access to the documents, and other relevant aspects of criminal procedure.
