On March 2, 2012 Ukrainian Bar Association in conjunction with the ICC Ukraine National Committee carried out the Arbitration Forum “Development of Non-State Courts in Ukraine”. Within the program of the Arbitration Forum participants discussed the most urgent issues of arbitration courts functioning in Ukraine, procedural issues and problems of the legislative regulation of arbitration courts.

Volodymyr Yaremko, Associate, attorney-at-law at the West Branch of Arzinger Law Office, spoke about progressive global standards for the arbitration procedure, in particular, introduction of in absentia or remote proceedings.  

Volodymyr’s report “Improvement of Arbitration Procedures – Approaching Global Standards” covered a number of important issues of improvement of the arbitration dispute resolution. He began his speech with an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of the national arbitration compared to international commercial arbitration and continued with review of requirements to arbitration proceedings and consequences of non-compliance therewith. Additionally, he spoke about the arbitration procedure in practice. During the lecture Volodymyr shared with audience his experience in this sphere gained by many court and arbitration proceedings.
