INVITATION - The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) invites you to participate in a business leaders luncheon with Daniel Bilak, Director, UkraineInvest, Ukraine's Investment Promotion Office and Chief Investment Advisor to the Prime Minister at 12:15 p.m - 2:00 p.m on Friday, March 24, 2017, Offices of PwC, 600 13th Street, NW, 10th Floor, Washington, DC.  A light lunch will be served.

UkraineInvest has a mission to attract international business investment to Ukraine through outreach and collaboration with businesses and investors interested in expanding in Ukraine or entering the Ukrainian market, thereby contributing the development of a strong and independent private business sector and Ukraine’s economic growth.  The mission of UkraineInvest includes business, investor, legal and government reforms that move Ukraine forward and make it a better and easier place to do business.

Mr. Bilak has been a leading advocate for major business, investor, legal and government reforms reforms in Ukraine for over 25 years.  He served on the board of directors of USUBC, www.USUBC.org, for several years representing CMS Cameron McKenna

Daniel will make opening remarks about the mission, goals and work of UkraineInvest, to MOVE UKRAINE FORWARD through business, investor, legal and government reforms that will make Ukraine an easier and better please to do business planned in 2017 by the office of the Prime Minster, and Ukraine as a major investment destination, followed by Q&A/Discussion.

BIO: Daniel Bilak, Director, UkraineInvest -

Daniel Bilak was appointed Chief Investment Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine & Director, UkraineInvest, Ukraine's Investment Promotion Office, by the Cabinet of Minister on  November 1, 2016. Prior to this Daniel was a partner of the CMS Cameron McKenna Ukraine office.

A Canadian-qualified lawyer, Daniel has over 25 years of experience working in the private and public sectors in Ukraine, advising major international and Ukrainian clients in the energy, agribusiness, infrastructure and technology sectors, regarding investment and regulatory issues in Ukraine and the region. He has also been acting as Counsel to the Business Ombudsman Institution, a key anti-corruption mechanism for the business community in Ukraine.

Daniel previously served as a senior United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) governance expert, advising on rule of law, anti-corruption and regulatory issues to the Ukrainian government, including the President, Prime Minister, and the Minister of Justice of Ukraine. He also advised the governments of Bulgaria and Lithuania on rule of law issues as part of their EU accession process.
