Vertep, a Ukrainian Christmas theater, is a group of people going from house to house presenting short scenes and carol singing, following old Ukrainian traditions.
As part of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy's (UAL) efforts to reinforce and spread the idea of national identity, the ULA traditionally performs Verteps in various locations around Ukraine.
The ULA students create both the plot and the costumes themselves. The marathon of caroling begins with Vertep-Fest in Kharkiv and continues with performances around the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and in Kyiv
The Christmas Theater Vertep performance runs for approximately 40 minutes in the Ukrainian language and involves 20 students.
RSVP: Please register your attendance immediately by sending an e-mail to Morgan Williams, firstname.lastname@example.org There is no cost for the performance or the luncheon. You will really enjoy the performance by the students of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy. Sign up today.
