WASHINGTON, D.C. -- YOU ARE INVITED to a small U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) meeting in advance of the upcoming online meeting of the Trade and Investment Council (TIC) between the U.S. & Ukraine, with Betsy Hafner, Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative, on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon EST.

 

The meeting is for USUBC members to discuss with Betsy Hafner those barriers to market access and investment faced by U.S. companies in Ukraine that they would propose the U.S. government raise during the upcoming TIC meeting.  This is a great opportunity for USUBC members. 

Some of the issues being considered for the online TIC meeting are:  IPR: CMO regime, use of unlicensed software, enforcement; MARKET ACCESS: Access for crop protection products, Draft Media Law (#2693), draft Law #3739 (25% localization); REGULATORY REGIME: Agriculture veterinary certificates (Order #553), approximation with EU regulations; INVESTMENT ENVIRONMENT: VAT refunds, Transportation logistics, support of small businesses (GoU proposal).
