The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) hosted a webinar "Establishing American University Kyiv (AUK) Update" on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Over 300 people registered to attend the webinar on Zoom. 

Dr. Rick Shangraw, Founding President, and Dr. Roman Sheremeta, Founding Rector of
American University Kyiv, gave very detailed presentations about the plans for the opening of the new University in Kyiv in 2022. Ambassador Kurt Volker, a Managing Partner, moderated the program and Q&A session.

A little over one year ago (December 2020) the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) introduced its membership and guests to a new project that will have a transformational impact on Ukraine: establishing American University Kyiv (AUK).

American University Kyiv (AUK) is a unique partnership, powered by Arizona State University, involving Cintana Education and business partners from Ukraine and Georgia.  Over the past year the American University Kyiv (AUK) has made substantial progress: (1) hiring a founding President, Dr. Rick Shangraw, (2) hiring a founding Rector, Dr. Roman Sheremeta, (3) obtaining a higher education license from the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, and (4) renovating the Kyiv River Port facility as a home for the University.

American University Kyiv (AUK) will be a world class private university and will launch a unique model of higher education.  AUK will have access to world-leading curriculum from Arizona State University and management support from Cintana Education - a world leader in university design and transformation, which maintains a strategic partnership with Arizona State University.
