Judges for Judges: High Council of Justice
|
|
Members of the HCJ Alla Lesko (left) and Yaroslav Romaniuk (right) participated in the Supreme Court competition. Both do not meet integrity criteria. Romaniuk voluntarily quitted right after the High Qualification Commission of Judges announced him as the finalist.
Three members of the HCJ ran for the Supreme Court, two of them won the competition. Their review of the list of Supreme Court finalists would cause a conflict of interest not only in regards to voting for themselves, but also in a part of (not-)voting for their competitors.
The public has reasonable concern regarding political impartiality of current members of the HCJ. Some of them demonstrate political affiliation with the President, others - with corrupt representatives of old judicial system. More detailsabout their profiles.

In June 2017 the Department for Financial Investigations of the State Fiscal Service in Kyiv initiated a criminal case against AntAC.
The head of this department Serhiy Solodchenko, according to «Nashi Groshi», worked in the charity foundation «Dobrobut» in Luhansk region. The co-founder of this foundation is Hryhoriy Pryheba who Vsevolod Filimonenko (the author of discrediting films about AntAC) worked with.
«Deutsche Welle» informed, that the reason to initiate the case was a complaint of director of a civil organization «National Interest of Ukraine» Vasyl Apasov on possible violations by AntAC of requirements of legislation regulating activity of non-profit organizations. This complaint was submitted to the Prosecutor's Office by the MP Pavlo Pynzenyk.
All key facts about ongoing systemic attack on AntAC are available here. |
