Washington, D.C. – Today, the Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus – Representatives Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Mike Quigley (D-IL), and Andy Harris (R-MD) – released the following statement on Vladimir Putin’s massacre of Ukrainian civilians in Bucha, Ukraine.

“With the bodies of hundreds of Ukrainian civilians lining the streets and dumped into shallow graves throughout cities liberated from Russian forces, the world is seeing the true depravity of Vladimir Putin. There is no political or defensive goal achieved by massacring innocent men, women, and children. These are simply the barbaric actions of murderers and rapists sent by a man who finds pleasure in unleashing death and destruction. The Free World cannot close its eyes to these atrocities. The United States and our allies must immediately arm Ukraine with the lethal weapons and defensive armor it needs, tighten the screws of sanctions, end imports of Russian coal, oil, and gas globally, and bolster the defenses of our allies before it is too late. Putin will not stop on his own accord. We must unite to forcefully and definitively end the evil that is laying waste on the European continent.”
