The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Holodomor Museum for commemorating the extraordinary legacy of Morgan Williams, the late President of USUBC. On what would have been his 85th birthday, the Museum highlighted his tireless efforts in raising awareness about the Holodomor and fostering an artistic representation of this tragic chapter in Ukrainian history.
Morgan Williams was deeply moved by the lack of visual representation of the Holodomor when he first encountered its history in the 1990s. Inspired to fill this gap, he dedicated himself to collecting and commissioning artworks that shed light on this genocide. His remarkable collection, aptly named “Paintings That Never Were,” grew to become the largest of its kind, featuring over 700 items, including paintings, books, and memorabilia by notable Ukrainian artists.
USUBC is honored to have supported the transfer of this invaluable collection to the Holodomor Museum, fulfilling Morgan Williams' dream of preserving it in a place of national memory. While his presence is dearly missed, his legacy lives on, inspiring future generations to remember and honor the truth of Ukraine's past.
