It is with great sadness and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Morgan Williams, President and CEO of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council.
The family shared with USUBC that Morgan passed away peacefully in his home in California yesterday, Saturday, June 8, 2024, next to his wife Lynda. Morgan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered as a brilliant individual, the truest of American patriots, a proud son of the State of Kansas, and a devoted servant of his adopted country of Ukraine.
“It was with great sadness that we learned today of the passing of Morgan, the energetic and charismatic leader of the Ukrainian American business community and a true friend who championed Ukrainian culture in the U.S. for many decades. It’s a huge loss to all in Ukraine. Our hearts and prayers are with Morgan’s family and USUBC family. We all will continue his mission.” Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States.
For the international business community and everybody at the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, Morgan was a living legend, a remarkable visionary leader who was always at the top of his game, working around the clock for USUBC and its members, advocating and supporting Ukraine until his last breath.
Many of you know how much Morgan contributed to the development of the business relationship between the United States and Ukraine.
“I was extremely saddened to learn about the death of my dear friend, Morgan Williams. For more than thirty years, Morgan devoted himself to the development of Ukraine. During his time as Director of Government Affairs at SigmaBleyzer, we co-founded the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), which Morgan led since its inception, growing it into a significant, influential organization. He was a great champion for Ukraine, and in its darkest hours, he continued to support the country in important, meaningful ways. He was a warm, kind and inspiring man. Natasha and I, as well as everyone at SigmaBleyzer, would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Morgan’s family on his passing. We will miss him.” Michael Bleyzer, President & CEO, SigmaBleyzer Investment Group, and Chairman of the DAAR Foundation.
In honoring Morgan's legacy, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council will continue to promote the values and mission he championed, to build a strong, democratic and independent Ukraine, and to do everything possible to achieve Ukraine’s victory.
“Our Father loved Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We are comforted knowing he will be missed by so many members of the community. Slava Ukraini!” Daren Williams, Morgan’s son.
Morgan Williams is dearly missed by his wife, four children, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and all of us, who knew and loved him.
In coordination with Morgan’s family, USUBC will share with its members any information received about memorial services or other tributes in honor of Morgan.
Our sincere condolences to his family, friends and the mourning community.
