Shell Ukraine has signed up for UN Women’s global solidarity movement for gender equality - HeForShe. Shell is the first international energy company to declare its readiness to contribute to achieving gender equality and the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine.

In Shell Ukraine, women already hold 50% of senior positions.  am proud that Shell has joined the HeForShe initiative", says Peter Kerekgyarto, General Director of Shell Ukraine.

In 2021 Shell Ukraine signed he Women's Empowerment Principles, initiated by the UN Global Compact and UN Women. Since 2020 the company has been a member of the UN Global Compact Network.

Based on UN analysis, current estimates suggest that workplace and economic gender equality won’t be achieved until 2095 in the world. We can’t wait that long. That’s why we are so pleased that Shell Ukraine has joined our network for gender equality as a HeForShe supporter. At the same time, gender balance is maintained in all respects, each employee has equal opportunities in Shell. The company always strives to support women  in professional development and improvement of leadership skills. From 2022 onwards Shell Ukraine also launched long-term relationship-oriented mentoring program for its employees to help their professional development. Half of the 10 employees who have benefited so far are women.
